Coriolis®µ is a portable air sampler for clean rooms, is mainly dedicated to clean rooms contamination control and indoor air quality assesment.

This equipment has been validated by MDC in the production of the ClinicalAir System, a complete solution to control the microbiological quality of hospital air, especially in high-risk points, such as operating rooms, and intensive care units.

Many international guidelines and standards aim to ensure the quality of products and the health of the consumer. The air monitoring process in aseptic areas can be assured by the Coriolis®µ, which can be used to evaluate the processes of contamination much earlier than with the traditional microbiological methods, which were slow and laborious.

“Light, easy up and flexible protocol”

This portable air sampler has been created to capture biological particles in the air (bacteria, fungi, pollen) from 0.5 to 20mm in diameter and concentrates them into approximately 16ml of sample volume. Air and particles come into the cone forming the vortex, after being centrifuged on the cone’s inner surface; the particles are concetrated in the liquid. High air flow rate through a buffer without the limitations of filtration. The liquid sample obtained is compatible with all detection technologies, including immunoassay, PCR, flow cytometry and microbiology.

In order to avoid any cross contamination, we provide sterile and single use cones, individually packaged and pre-filled with collection liquid or we can provide empty cones for filling later.

Sterilty and no cross contamination are crucial in the context of air quality, that is the reason why the parts of the Coriolis®µ air sampler which are in contact with air and collection liquid are either autoclavable.
